Flood Watch issued June 8 at 1:00AM CDT until June 8 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Carroll, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, Jo Daviess, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island and Whiteside, Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry IA, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Very high atmospheric moisture across the area will bring heavy rain from several rounds of thunderstorms. Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour are possible. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued June 8 at 9:36AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL At 933 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking areas of heavy rain over northeast Iowa County and much of Benton County, moving north- northwest at 20 mph. HAZARD...Minor flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Slowing or redirecting of traffic due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront access due to flooding. Locations impacted include... Vinton, Marengo, Atkins, Walford, Urbana, Shellsburg, Newhall, Blairstown, Van Horne, Norway, Garrison, Brandon, Rowley, Mount Auburn, Amana, Middle Amana, Vinton Memorial Airport, East Amana, High Amana, and Minne Estema Park. This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 39 and 55. Rainfall amounts of one and a half to two inches have fallen asince 8 A.M. and an additional one to two inches of rain are possible. Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforcement. If the heavy rain continues, a flash flood warning may be needed.
