This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Water affects many residences along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.6 feet and rising. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM CDT Thursday was 11.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.9 feet early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
