Wapsipinicon River at Independence affecting Linn and Buchanan Counties. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Clinton and Scott Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near Anamosa Shaw Rd. * WHEN...Until early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Multiple village and township roads are closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.6 feet. - Recent Activity...The river will begin rising again later today. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.7 feet Wednesday evening. It will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.5 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. The next statement will be issued by Tuesday morning at 745 AM CDT.
