Flood Warning issued June 20 at 10:22PM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... Ocheyedan River near Spencer affecting Clay County. Little Sioux River at Spencer affecting Clay County. Little Sioux River near Milford affecting Dickinson County. Little Sioux River above Spencer / Highway 18 affecting Clay County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Sioux River at Spencer. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, City sewers in Spencer can begin to back up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if flows on the tributary creeks are also very high. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM CDT Thursday was 14.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.1 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Flood Watch issued June 21 at 2:40AM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following areas, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following areas, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and South Dakota, including the following areas, Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner, Union and Yankton. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rainfall continues.
