Little Sioux River at Spencer affecting Clay County. Little Sioux River near Milford affecting Dickinson County. Little Sioux River above Spencer / Highway 18 affecting Clay County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Sioux River at Spencer. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, City sewers in Spencer can begin to back up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if flows on the tributary creeks are also very high. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM CDT Thursday was 14.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.1 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Flood Warning issued June 21 at 6:15AM CDT until June 21 at 6:15PM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following counties, Clay, Dickinson, O'Brien and Osceola and southwest Minnesota, including the following counties, Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray and Nobles. * WHEN...Until 615 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 613 AM CDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Spencer In Clay County, Spirit Lake, Windom, Jackson In Jackson County, Milford, Mountain Lake, Lakefield, Arnolds Park, Lake Park, Bergen, Okoboji, Heron Lake, Orleans, Everly, Brewster, Royal, Round Lake, Terril, Wahpeton and Peterson. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Flood Watch issued June 21 at 9:51AM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following areas, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola, Plymouth and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following areas, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and South Dakota, including the following areas, Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner, Union and Yankton. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rainfall is again expected Friday evening into Saturday morning. This rainfall will fall on already saturated ground.
