Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois... * Until 1100 PM CDT Thursday. * At 457 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Freeport, Lena, Stockton, Warren, Hanover, Pearl City, Elizabeth, Cedarville, Davis, Woodbine, Dakota, German Valley, Scales Mound, Apple River, Winslow, Rock City, Ridott, Nora, Massbach and Schapville. This includes the following State Parks... Apple River Canyon State Park and Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Recreation Area. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Although these storms will be fast-moving, they will have high rainfall rates, so areas that had storms this morning could be susceptible to runoff and flooding. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Carroll, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, Jo Daviess, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Stephenson, Warren and Whiteside, Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry IA, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
