Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued July 6 at 8:21PM CDT until July 7 at 2:00AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 468 IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT TUESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 13 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA BENTON KANDIYOHI MORRISON STEARNS TODD IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA KANABEC MILLE LACS IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA CHIPPEWA DOUGLAS LAC QUI PARLE POPE STEVENS SWIFT THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALEXANDRIA, BENSON, GLENWOOD, LITTLE FALLS, LONG PRAIRIE, MADISON, MONTEVIDEO, MORA, MORRIS, PRINCETON, SAUK RAPIDS, ST CLOUD, AND WILLMAR.

Special Weather Statement issued July 6 at 10:42PM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN At 1042 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 7 miles northwest of Bock to 12 miles north of Bellingham, or extending from 30 miles northwest of Cambridge to 27 miles southwest of Morris, moving south at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... St. Cloud, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, St. Anthony, Waite Park, St. Joseph, Princeton, Cold Spring, Melrose, Collegeville, Benson, Milaca, Foley, Albany, Rockville, Paynesville, Richmond, Appleton and Avon. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.
