Flood Warning issued June 2 at 10:22AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota... Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine Counties. .Recent and future rainfall continue to impact river levels on the Minnesota River at Montevideo and Morton. Periods of rain will last through Tuesday, allowing river levels to remain steady or increase over the next few days. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 AM CDT Sunday, the stage was 14.7 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1000 AM CDT Sunday was 14.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 14.1 feet Sunday, June 09. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.7 feet on 04/11/1960. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 2 at 4:36PM CDT until June 3 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 379 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 9 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA KANDIYOHI RENVILLE IN SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA REDWOOD IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA CHIPPEWA LAC QUI PARLE POPE STEVENS SWIFT YELLOW MEDICINE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BENSON, GLENWOOD, GRANITE FALLS, MADISON, MONTEVIDEO, MORRIS, OLIVIA, REDWOOD FALLS, AND WILLMAR.
