Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 9 at 10:08PM CDT until July 9 at 11:15PM CDT by NWS Bismarck ND At 1008 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 10 miles southeast of Cleveland to near Tappen, or along a line from 14 miles southwest of Jamestown to 43 miles west of Jamestown, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Jamestown, Edgeley, Gackle, Medina, Tappen, Streeter, Ypsilanti, Adrian, Buchanan, Spiritwood Lake, Montpelier, Cleveland, Spiritwood, Jud, Pettibone, Dawson, Woodworth, Dickey, Lake Isabel and Eldridge. Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing widespread damaging winds and dangerous hail. These dangerous storms are capable of producing large hail driven by severe winds! Seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! If you are caught outdoors, cover your head and neck. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Extreme Heat Watch issued July 9 at 1:14PM CDT until July 14 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Bismarck ND * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 95 to 105 possible. High temperatures will range from around 92 to 102 Saturday, 97 to 107 on Sunday, and 95 to 105 on Monday. * WHERE...All of western and central North Dakota including the James River Valley. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through late Monday night. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures will only drop to around 70 degrees, providing little relief from the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
