For the Heat Advisory, heat index values mainly as high as 105 to 110 degrees during the afternoon and early evening hours. The overall-highest readings are currently forecast to occur on Sunday * WHERE...For the Dense Fog Advisory, portions of south central Nebraska from the Interstate 80 corridor down to the Nebraska-Kansas state line. For the Heat Advisory, portions of central, east central and south central Nebraska. * WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 10 AM CDT this morning. For the Heat Advisory, from noon today to 10 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Low visibility this morning could make driving conditions hazardous. Afternoon hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures on tonight and Sunday night will provide only limited relief from the heat, dropping no lower than the low to mid 70s. If driving this morning, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. For this afternoon on through Monday, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
