Flood Advisory issued June 17 at 5:29AM CDT until June 17 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS North Platte NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of north central Nebraska, including the following counties, Boyd, Cherry and Keya Paha. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT /900 AM MDT/. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 529 AM CDT /429 AM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Valentine, Kilgore, Nenzel, Norden, Merritt Reservoir, Crookston, Burton, Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, Smith Falls State Park, Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area, Sparks, Anderson Bridge State Wildlife Management Area, Nets Peak, Mills and Brocksburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
