Flood Advisory issued June 12 at 7:06AM EDT until June 12 at 9:30AM EDT by NWS Gray ME * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and already elevated streams is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern New Hampshire, including the following county, Carroll focused on areas recently impacted by flooding from Tamworth to Madison. * WHEN...Until 930 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Recent flooding elevated area streams and reduced runoff storage in the area from Tamworth, to Conway, south to Eaton and Madison. As a result, even modest rainfall seen this morning with amounts of a half inch can result in small stream rises necessary to cause minor flooding. Overall impacts are expected to be minor. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 703 AM EDT, Local law enforcement reported stream rises due to ongoing heavy showers. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Conway, Ossipee, Tamworth, Madison, Freedom, Albany and Eaton. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Heat Advisory issued June 12 at 2:29AM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Gray ME * WHAT...Heat index values of 95 to 100 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest and western Maine and central, northern, and southern New Hampshire. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
