For the Excessive Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest and western Maine and central, northern, and southern New Hampshire. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm overnight low temperatures in the 70s will result in greater cumulative heat stress. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
