Air Quality Alert issued July 2 at 3:38PM EDT by NWS Gray ME The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services has issued an Air Quality Alert for ozone until 10 PM EDT this evening. A Code Orange Air Quality Alert means that air pollution concentrations within the above mentioned counties may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children and older adults; anyone with lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, and bronchitis; and people who are active outdoors. Even healthy individuals may experience mild health effects and should consider limiting strenuous or prolonged outdoor activities. Portsmouth, Hampton, Durham, Exeter, Brentwood, Greenland, Newington, Stratham, Seabrook, Rye, Newmarket, Atkinson, Kingston, East Kingston, Hampton Falls, Kensington, North Hampton, Plaistow, Newton, and South Hampton. Peaople at the Seacoast Beaches should be alert. This includes Interstate 95 in New Hampshire between mile markers 0 and 15. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
