Flash Flood Warning issued July 6 at 1:11PM EDT until July 6 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 111 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with significant flooding near Lakewood with several road closures and flooded roadways. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Lakehurst, Mantoloking, Brick Township, Allenwood, Ramtown, Leisure Village East and Leisure Village. This includes the following highways... Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 22 and 34. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 85 and 99. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

In southern New Jersey, Ocean. * WHEN...Until 715 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 307 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Localized rain amounts of over 2 inches in an hour will be possible, leading to areas of flash flooding.
