Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 21 at 5:02PM EDT until July 21 at 5:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 502 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over North Brunswick Township, or near New Brunswick, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Locations impacted include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret, Holmdel, Keansburg, Matawan, Jamesburg, Rocky Hill, Millstone, Colonia, Brownville, and Kingston. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 13. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 11. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 110 and 134. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central and northern New Jersey. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flood Watch issued July 21 at 4:46PM EDT until July 22 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Camden, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Somerset and Western Monmouth, and southeast Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lower Bucks, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will continue into tonight with the most widespread activity occurring through this evening. Some heavy showers and thunderstorms will produce torrential rainfall, with 2 to 3 inches of rain per hour possible.
