Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 3 at 7:31PM EDT until July 3 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 730 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Bloomsbury to near Hellertown to near Geryville to Bally, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. Strong winds may occur ahead of any rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Lansdale, Quakertown, Perkasie, Doylestown, Byram, Souderton, Bedminster, Hellertown, Flemington, Chalfont, Tinicum, Hatfield, East Greenville, New Hope, Alpha, Dublin, Ferndale, Schwenksville, Frenchtown, and Milford. People at the New Hope America 250 Celebration should seek safe shelter immediately! This includes the following highways... Northeast Extension between mile markers 25 and 48. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 3. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Extreme Heat Warning issued July 3 at 1:40PM EDT until July 4 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees expected each day. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Morris, Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm low temperatures in the low to mid 70s at night will not offer any relief from the heat. This combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures will exacerbate the impacts from the heat and humidity. The hottest conditions are expected to occur through today, however dangerous heat will continue through Saturday. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your county or state health department website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.
