HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these severe thunderstorms. Move indoors immediately. Heat Advisory issued June 11 at 8:11AM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA * WHAT...Heat index values up to 103 degrees expected. * WHERE...Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and Friday may provide local relief from the heat, but it will remain very humid. It will then turn much less humid this weekend in the wake of a cold front, but temperatures will remain above normal. Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat. Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
