Flood Warning issued June 3 at 10:24PM CDT until June 4 at 8:00AM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Codington, Deuel and Hamlin. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1024 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clear Lake, Estelline, Castlewood, Lake Poinsett, Hayti, Lake Norden, Gary, Toronto, Astoria, Brandt, Claremont Colony, Altamont, Bemis, Poinsett Colony, Dempster, Stone Bridge, Moritz, Lake Cochrane Rec Area and Lake Albert. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
