Central Aurora County in south central South Dakota... Northeastern Brule County in south central South Dakota... Northwestern Davison County in southeastern South Dakota... * Until 1215 AM CDT. * At 906 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Plankinton, Kimball, Mount Vernon, White Lake, Grass Ranch Colony and Pukwana. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Flood Watch issued June 20 at 2:04PM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following county, Lyon, southwest Minnesota, including the following counties, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and South Dakota, including the following counties, Aurora, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hanson, Hutchinson, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner and Yankton. * WHEN...From 8 PM CDT this evening through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and storms training through the region tonight through Friday night are expected to bring a broad swath of 2 to 4 inches of rain.
