Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 5 at 8:14PM CDT until June 5 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 274 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA DODGE OLMSTED WABASHA WINONA IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN BUFFALO JACKSON LA CROSSE MONROE TREMPEALEAU THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALMA, ARCADIA, BLACK RIVER FALLS, DODGE CENTER, LA CROSSE, ROCHESTER, SPARTA, TOMAH, WABASHA, WHITEHALL, AND WINONA.

Special Weather Statement issued June 5 at 8:17PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI At 817 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Sparta, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Monroe County, including the following locations... Oil City, St Marys, Norwalk, Jackson Pass, Wilton, Tunnel City, Farmers Valley, Highway 131 And County A, Ridgeville, and Tunnel Trail Campground. This includes Interstate 90 in Wisconsin between mile markers 24 and 43. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for west central Wisconsin.
