Hartford County in northern Connecticut... * Until 815 PM EDT. * At 721 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over West Hartford, moving east at 25 mph. There is an additional severe thunderstorms approaching Torrington that will enter the warning area in the next 20 to 25 minutes. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Bristol, Manchester, East Hartford, Enfield, Southington, Glastonbury, Newington, Vernon, Windsor, Wethersfield, South Windsor, Farmington, Simsbury, Bloomfield, Berlin, Rocky Hill, and Avon. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Boston/Norton. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding.
