Crown King to Black Canyon City in Yavapai County... * Until 1000 PM MST. * At 817 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated additional thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.25 and 2.25 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, and normally dry washes * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Horse Thief Basin, Black Canyon City, Castle Creek Wilderness and Crown King. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Turney Gulch Group Campground and Hazlett Hollow Campground. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Sycamore Creek, Rock Creek, Willow Creek, Bear Creek, Agua Fria River, Crazy Basin Creek, Turkey Creek, Tiger Creek, Black Canyon Creek, Boulder Creek, Humbug Creek, Black Canyon, Jim Creek, North Fork Rock Creek, Poland Creek, Castle Creek and Slate Creek. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Get out of washes and creeks if you are camping or hiking! Flooding is occurring or imminent and will inundate creeks and washes.
