For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 110 expected with widespread Major HeatRisk. * WHERE...Shasta County Foothills 1000-3000 ft, Shasta Lake Area & 1-5 1000-3000 ft, Tehama Co Coast Range Above 3000 ft, and W. Shasta County Above 3000 ft. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 11 PM PDT Saturday. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from 11 AM Sunday to 11 PM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hot daytime temperatures will occur in other Valley locations as well, though Delta breeze influence will better moderate local temperatures in the remainder of the Valley. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
