Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 22 at 1:39PM MDT until June 22 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 377 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 9 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO EL PASO IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO BACA BENT CROWLEY KIOWA LAS ANIMAS OTERO PROWERS PUEBLO THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF COLORADO SPRINGS, EADS, LA JUNTA, LAMAR, LAS ANIMAS, OLNEY SPRINGS, ORDWAY, PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, PUEBLO, ROCKY FORD, SPRINGFIELD, TRINIDAD, AND WALSH.

Special Weather Statement issued June 22 at 6:33PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO At 633 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Monument, or 18 miles north of Colorado Springs, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Monument, Air Force Academy, Palmer Lake, Black Forest, and Gleneagle. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for east central Colorado.
