Thomas County in northwestern Kansas... Eastern Logan County in west central Kansas... Sheridan County in northwestern Kansas... Gove County in west central Kansas... * Until 900 PM CDT. * At 725 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles north of Winona to 8 miles east of Russell Springs to 7 miles northeast of Scott State Lake, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Monument around 730 PM CDT. Colby around 740 PM CDT. Oakley around 745 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Grinnell, Gem, Grainfield, Menlo, Rexford and Hoxie. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 42 and 112. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.

Blowing Dust Warning issued June 30 at 6:22PM MDT until June 30 at 10:00PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS * WHAT...Visibility less than one quarter mile in blowing dust. * WHERE...Thomas, Sheridan and Gove Counties. * WHEN...Until 11 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Severely limited visibilities are expected. Travel will be dangerous and possibly life-threatening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility reductions are associated with storm outflow winds, be alert for sudden reductions in visibility. People with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far as possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all the way off and keep your foot off the brake pedal. Remember, Pull Aside, Stay Alive.
