Red Flag Warning issued June 16 at 2:12PM MDT until June 17 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR MUCH OF WESTERN NM AND THE NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS DUE TO VERY LOW HUMIDITY, GUSTY WINDS AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .Stronger west to southwest winds will develop Monday with deep atmospheric mixing and an extremely dry airmass in place. The main threat area for the spread of fire will be west of the Continental Divide and the Northeast Highlands where winds will be strongest. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Monday. * AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Highlands (Zone 123). * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest at 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts up to 45 mph by late afternoon. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 10 percent * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning.
