Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 13 at 5:28PM CDT until June 14 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 329 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OKLAHOMA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF OKLAHOMA BEAVER CIMARRON TEXAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF TEXAS DALLAM HANSFORD HARTLEY HEMPHILL HUTCHINSON LIPSCOMB MOORE OCHILTREE ROBERTS SHERMAN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BEAVER, BOISE CITY, BOOKER, BORGER, CANADIAN, CHANNING, CODMAN, CONLEN, DALHART, DUMAS, FARNSWORTH, FOLLETT, FORGAN, FOUR WAY, GLAZIER, GRUVER, GUYMON, HARTLEY, HIGGINS, KEYES, LAKE MARVIN, LORA, MASTERSON, MIAMI, PERRYTON, ROMERO, SPEARMAN, STRATFORD, WAKA, WARE, AND WOLF CREEK PARK.

Flood Advisory issued June 13 at 8:13PM CDT until June 13 at 11:15PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of the Panhandle of Texas, including the following counties, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Ochiltree and Roberts. * WHEN...Until 1115 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 813 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Canadian. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Special Weather Statement issued June 13 at 8:24PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX At 824 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles north of Gruver to 5 miles east of Spearman to 16 miles west of Canadian to 4 miles east of Lora. Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Spearman, Canadian, Miami, Gruver, Wolf Creek Park, Lora, Farnsworth, Waka, Glazier, and Lake Marvin. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for the Panhandle of Texas.
