Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 9 at 6:53PM CDT until June 9 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for the Panhandle of Texas.

Special Weather Statement issued June 9 at 6:52PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles northeast of Hartley, or 12 miles southeast of Dalhart, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Dumas, Guymon, Dalhart, Stratford, Vega, Hartley, Cactus, Sunray, Goodwell, Gruver, Texline, Channing, Optima, Hardesty, Adrian, Glenrio, Bushland, Boys Ranch, Griggs, and Wildorado. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 1 and 60. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for the Panhandle of Oklahoma...and the Panhandle of Texas.
