Flash Flood Warning issued July 13 at 7:34PM MST until July 13 at 9:30PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ FFWPSR The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Maricopa County in south central Arizona... * Until 930 PM MST. * At 734 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Phoenix, Tempe, Paradise Valley, Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak Park, Papago Park, Sky Harbor Airport, Downtown Scottsdale, Downtown Phoenix and Tempe Marketplace. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
