Flash Flood Warning issued June 27 at 6:13PM MDT until June 27 at 9:15PM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT FFWGGW The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Richland County in northeastern Montana... * Until 915 PM MDT. * At 613 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Northwestern Richland County. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Special Weather Statement issued June 27 at 8:11PM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT At 810 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Rock Creek Rec Area to near Bloomfield. Movement was north at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wolf Point, Poplar, Nashua, Fort Peck, Richey, Bloomfield, Lambert, Fort Peck Marina, Frazer, Vida, Nelson Creek Rec Area, Rock Creek Rec Area, Duck Creek Rec Area, Oswego, Enid, Park Grove, Weldon, and Haxby. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT for northeastern Montana.
