Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas and along burn scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall produced by thunderstorms may lead to flash flooding. Rainfall rates in excessive of 1 inch per hour are possible under heavier thunderstorms. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Special Weather Statement issued July 13 at 8:11PM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT At 810 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Alder to 20 miles southeast of Dillon. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Virginia City, Ennis, Alder, Norris, Mcallister, Jeffers, Laurin, and Cameron. Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
