Red Flag Warning issued July 23 at 1:57PM MDT until July 25 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Red Flag Warning for hot temperatures, gusty winds, and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 10 AM Friday to 9 PM MDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Eastern Glacier/Toole/Central/Eastern Pondera/Liberty, Hill and Blaine Counties, Lewis and Clark National Forest Rocky Mountain District-Rocky Mountain Front, Chouteau and Fergus Counties and Central and Eastern Lewis and Clark National Forest Areas. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Near 100 on Friday and up to 105 on Saturday. * THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms may cause localized strong, and erratic wind gusts and lightning, mostly over zones 115 and 117 Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Containment of any ongoing or new fires may be very difficult. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in these areas of this Red Flag Warning.

For the second Heat Advisory Saturday night into Sunday, temperatures up to 101 F. * WHERE...Bears Paw Mountains and Southern Blaine, Cascade County below 5000ft, Fergus County below 4500ft, Hill County, Judith Basin County and Judith Gap, Northern Blaine County, and Western and Central Chouteau County. * WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, from noon Friday to noon MDT Saturday. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from noon to 9 PM MDT Saturday. For the second Heat Advisory, from 9 PM Saturday to 9 PM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat.
