Red Flag Warning issued June 6 at 12:43PM MDT until June 6 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 430 through 437. * WIND...South to southeast winds 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH. * HUMIDITY...12 to 19 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dry lightning will be possible with isolated storms during the afternoon and evening hours. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 8:26PM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY At 825 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles northwest of Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, or 30 miles north of Torrington, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Torrington, Mitchell, Morrill, Lingle, Henry, Van Tassell, Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, Southern Hills Estates, Scotts Bluff County Fairground, Torrington Municipal Airport, Prairie Center, Pine Ridge Estates, Hwy 85 At Dry Rawhide Creek, and Goshen County Fairgrounds. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
