Red Flag Warning issued June 20 at 1:03AM PDT until June 20 at 5:00PM PDT by NWS Elko NV ...FAST MOVING DRY THUNDERSTORMS TODAY... .Dry thunderstorms this morning will transition to more wet than dry storms by this afternoon. Storm motion will be fast mitigating the effects of any precipitation that occurs. Therefore, a drier thunderstorm threat exists through the early evening hours. The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Red Flag Warning for dry thunderstorms and gusty outflow winds, which is in effect from 9 AM this morning to 5 PM PDT this afternoon. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 438 W Elko County, N Eureka and Lander Counties N of I80, Fire Weather Zone 469 Central Elko County and Fire Weather Zone 470 Eastern Elko County. * THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated to scattered dry thunderstorms redeveloping today. * WIND...Erratic wind gusts around 55 mph in and near dry thunderstorms today. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
