Flood Watch issued June 7 at 2:59PM MDT until June 9 at 11:00AM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY Warm temperatures are melting snowpack and increasing river flows. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of the North Snowy Range Foothills near the town of Elk Mountain. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Warm temperatures are melting an abundant snowpack in the mountains and accelerating the runoff into rivers and streams. Overnight temperatures above freezing are rapidly melting the snowpack in the higher elevations above 9500 feet.
