Red Flag Warning issued July 8 at 2:18PM AKDT until July 9 at 12:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * AFFECTED AREA...Upper Koyukuk Valley. * TIMING...From noon today to midnight AKDT tonight. * THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered. * WINDS...South 5 to 10 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 25 to 35 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 70s/low 80s. Lows around 50. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will come with frequent lightning and outflow boundaries. Any lightning can cause new ignitions since the fuels are dry and burnable. A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to the public. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning.
