Winter Weather Advisory issued July 25 at 3:03PM AKDT until July 27 at 4:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. * WHERE...Central Brooks Range. * WHEN...From 10 AM Sunday to 4 AM AKDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel may be impacted. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation may start as rain before changing to snow with a brief period of wintry mix in between. Widespread 2 inches of snow accumulation is expected with up to 6 inches possible at higher elevations. Snow diminishes Sunday evening with periods of freezing drizzle possible overnight. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Visit 511.alaska.gov or call 5 1 1 for the latest road conditions.

Special Weather Statement issued July 24 at 3:15PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK Another Arctic cold front is expected to move southeast from the Chukchi Sea Saturday night into Sunday. Starting off, most of the precipitation will be rain and then transition to snow Saturday night into early Sunday morning. During this transition, there is a slight chance for sleet and/or freezing drizzle to fall along the eastern Arctic Coast. 2-4" of snow is possible in the Brooks Range and a coating to 2" across the Arctic Coast.
