Red Flag Warning issued June 13 at 3:06PM AKDT until June 14 at 11:00PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 10 AM to 11 PM AKDT Friday. * AFFECTED AREA...Yukon Flats and Fortymile Country from Eagle north. * TIMING...From 10 AM to 11 PM AKDT Friday. * LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...2. * WINDS...North 5 to 10 mph. Gusts to 30 mph near thunderstorms. * HUMIDITY...As low as 21 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 70s. * IMPACTS...Isolated high based thunderstorms on Friday will produce dry lightning with less than one tenth of an inch of rain. This could lead to the start of new fires on Friday. These high based thunderstorms will also produce strong gusty winds, with gusts up to 30 mph. A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to the public. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning.
