Flood Watch issued July 17 at 9:11PM AKDT until July 21 at 10:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Seward. * WHEN...From early Sunday morning through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A long duration rain event coinciding with an atmospheric river of moisture moving over the southern Kenai Peninsula will result in moderate to heavy rain for Seward Saturday evening through Monday night. 3 to 5 inches of rain is likely (70-80%) with a low chance (20%) of up to 6 inches of rain for this event. The heaviest rain will likely occur between Sunday morning and Monday morning, with the bulk of the rain falling during this time period. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
