Special Weather Statement issued July 25 at 3:09PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK An Arctic cold front is expected to move southeast from the Chukchi Sea Saturday night into Sunday. Starting off, most of the precipitation will be rain and then transition to snow early Sunday morning. During this transition, there is a slight chance for sleet and/or freezing drizzle to fall along the eastern Arctic Coast. Snow accumulations of 2-6" is possible in the Brooks Range with less than an inch expected for most of the Eastern Arctic Coast. Periods of freezing drizzle are possible as the snow diminishes Sunday afternoon and evening.

Special Weather Statement issued July 24 at 3:15PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK Another Arctic cold front is expected to move southeast from the Chukchi Sea Saturday night into Sunday. Starting off, most of the precipitation will be rain and then transition to snow Saturday night into early Sunday morning. During this transition, there is a slight chance for sleet and/or freezing drizzle to fall along the eastern Arctic Coast. 2-4" of snow is possible in the Brooks Range and a coating to 2" across the Arctic Coast.
