Heat Advisory issued July 8 at 2:35PM AKDT until July 10 at 12:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * WHAT...Hot temperatures as high as 85 degrees expected. * WHERE...Central and Western Arctic Plains. * WHEN...Until midnight AKDT Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Individuals not accustomed to these unusually hot temperatures for this region may experience heat related illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High temperatures up to 85 degrees during the afternoons and evenings. The warmest temperatures are expected between 4 PM and 11 PM AKDT. Drink plenty of fluids and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when working in the sun. Wear sunscreen and lightweight, loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
