Heat Advisory issued July 6 at 1:44PM AKDT until July 9 at 12:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * WHAT...Hot temperatures as high as 85 degrees expected. * WHERE...Central Arctic Plains and Western Arctic Plains. * WHEN...Until midnight AKDT Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Individuals not accustomed to these unusually hot temperatures for this region may experience heat related illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High temperatures up to 85 degrees expected Monday through Wednesday during the afternoons and evenings. The warmest temperatures are expected between 4 PM and 11 PM AKDT. Drink plenty of fluids and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when working in the sun. Wear sunscreen and lightweight, loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
