Hazards: Wind gusts of 90 km/h Local rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm Timing: Ending this evening. Additional information: Scattered thunderstorms this evening will have the potential to produce wind gusts of 90 km/h. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are possible for some areas, which may give rainfall totals approaching 50 mm as well. The threat of strong thunderstorm wind gusts will diminish this evening. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. These thunderstorms, combined with the showers that were already expected, could produce locally significant rainfall amounts. Nautical activities may be hazardous due to sudden, severe wind gusts over bodies of water. ### Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
