yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 4:34 p.m. PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. There is a severe thunderstorm over the hills 15 km to the east of Castlegar. Highway 3 between Castlegar and Salmo will be affected. ### Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Road conditions are available at https://www.drivebc.ca/.
