yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 6:03 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. The cluster of severe thunderstorms is located near Moosomin and is moving towards the north at 65 km/h. ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.

Conditions have become favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon. Large hail, strong wind gusts and heavy rain are the primary hazards with these severe thunderstorms. The severe weather threat is expected to diminish later this evening. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
