Thunderstorm

Warnings

yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect A passing cold front will combine with an unstable airmass resulting in a favourable environment for the development of severe thunderstorms over southeastern Manitoba. Thunderstorms are expected to develop early this afternoon (1-3 pm local time) and diminish this evening. The primary hazards with these storms include large hail, strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall is expected to impact already water logged areas from last nights storms. So further flash flooding will also be a risk in flood prone areas. ### Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #MBStorm. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
