Location: Southern and central Saskatchewan. Timing: Afternoon and evening. Hazards: -2-3 cm hail. -30-50 mm rainfall. -90 km/h wind gusts. -Isolated tornado or two. Remarks: A trough of low pressure over western Saskatchewan will lead to scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 6:37 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: Over Echo Valley Provincial Park Motion: Moving northeast at 30 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) Locations in the Path: Echo Valley Provincial Park B-Say-Tah Fort Qu'Appelle Fort San Lebret Balcarres ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
