orange watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect Scattered thunderstorms have developed ahead of developing low pressure system in North Dakota, some of which have the potential to become severe. The primary hazards are heavy rain, large hail and strong wind gusts. Thunderstorms are expected to slowly advance north and east this evening before weakening near midnight. ### Driving conditions may be difficult. Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 12:44 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: Oakbank to 20 km southeast of Richer Motion: Moving northeast at 60 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm) Locations in the Path: Oakbank Ste-Geneviève Anola Garson Tyndall Beausejour Hadashville East Braintree Elma Whitemouth ### Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely.
