red warning - tornado - in effect At 12:58 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Tornado Location: Near Glenburnie and also near Battersea Motion: Moving quickly to the southeast at 80 km/h Locations in the Path: Aylesworth, Codes Corner, Kingston, Willowbank, Gananoque, Marysville ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

orange warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 12:55 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. ### Utility outages are likely. Heavy rain will likely cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail will likely cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
